Lucas Simon

CEO & Sales

Lucas (or Luke, as his friends call him) has your back. Before Co-founding Canadian Sales Tax Solutions, Lucas worked for Apple corporate HQ and Rogers in Canada. He provides tax compliance advice to sellers from around the globe looking to enter the Canadian e-commerce market and has cultivated relationships across the industry. 

Need someone to help you ship goods from China to Canada? He knows those people. Need tax help in the EU? He knows those people, too. 3PL in Canada? Yep, he’s got a guy. 

Small sellers, big aggregators, Lucas loves meeting new people from his home office in the western Canadian province of British Colombia. What’s he into? Camping, cooking, fishing and spending time with his family.

Brian McGill

President and Co-Founder

Brian is the elder, as in very elder on the team, and was around when we were just a local bookkeeping firm with a few individual and small business clients. 

His entire career, except for a student summer job as a Coke bottle washer for Coca-Cola, was spent in the financial sector. Initially in the private sector as a bank manager, and then in his later years, he went over to the dark side with Canada’s tax department (Canada Revenue Agency) as an auditor. If you’re ever looking for help falling asleep, we’ll send you a recording of Brian explaining the vagaries of marginal tax rates…exciting stuff…not! But seriously, if you have any questions about anything tax-related, Brian can explain it in plain speak without the usual bean counter mumbo jumbo. Brian is a history and news junkie, a pretty depressing and infuriating pastime these days, but he de-stresses with golf, cycling and swimming.

Dominique Royer

Onboarding & Registrations Specialist

With experience in both the retail and service industries, Dominique’s spot on the team has allowed his transferable skills to be put to good practice. As Client Services Administrator, he strives to make every interaction personable and memorable for our clients, assisting, supporting and ensuring they have a solid understanding of the complex Canadian Sales Tax landscape. Dominique is a team player, a people person, and a valuable asset to the team. During his downtime, he plays a mean guitar, reads a boatload of books, and loves sharing meals and quality time with his family.

Alicia J McGill

Chief Communications, Operations & Training Officer

The J stands for JENIUS. When not winning spelling bees, Alicia is your behind-the-scenes controller of all things CSTS. Although unbelievable, she did not hail from a background in sales tax and was a Jean of all trades before co-founding our fast-growing business with family. Those multiple and varied skills honed over the years have contributed to her well-rounded ability to run things. Who runs the world…? (Beyoncé, technically but whatever). Hailing from Canada and being raised in the sunny paradise of Barbados, she also brings an interesting perspective to the leadership team. When not working hard for clients, she’s been known to enjoy a craft beer in the sun with her dog Xena and demon cat Tyson. She’s also quite a nerd when it comes to music, comics, movies, TV and pop culture. She’s also the one with the “HAIR” at trade shows, although the majestically coiffed Luke might dispute that.

Priya Thomas

Canada Sales Tax Specialist

Before Joining the CSTS team, Priya worked as a Tax Analyst for PWC and H & R Block US in India. With a background in Taxation, Priya brings a wealth of knowledge to the Canada Sales Tax Specialist role. She is dedicated to helping clients navigate Canadian Sales tax’s complexities clearly and easily. Priya is responsible for analyzing sales and determining tax liability while ensuring clients feel confident and informed. 

Priya enthusiastically approaches her work and actively seeks opportunities to broaden her responsibilities and expand her knowledge.

Outside of work, Priya enjoys travelling and dancing and values spending time with family and friends.

Pritpal Vaid

Company Accountant

As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, Pritpal was working as a bookkeeper in a Global talent management agency before joining the CSTS Team. With her over four years of accounting experience, She is responsible to ensure that all financial records are accurate & up to date and taxes are paid on time. She handles A/R & A/P as well as all other accounting matters.

Additionally, She obtained a postgraduate diploma in accounting from Humber college. She has a positive attitude towards her work and is always willing to take over new challenges and responsibilities.

In her leisure, Pritpal loves cooking, and spending her time with her kids and family.

Shannon Bush

Manager of Filing & Client Communication

Before joining the Canadian Sales Tax Solutions team, Shannon Bush worked in service and administration. With the skills learned there and the expert tax knowledge gained from our team, she is a client-focused sales tax whiz!

Her primary focus is ensuring our clients understand the Canadian sales tax landscape while not bombarding them with unnecessary fluff! She will be responsible for your sales tax registrations and dealing with the bureaucracy that comes with that! In downtime, she loves spending time with her dog Gunner (the best!) and friends and family.
